NOTICE
On January 3, 2017, TransUnion Interactive, Inc., Trans Union, LLC and TransUnion (collectively, “TransUnion”) entered into a Consent Order with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (“CFPB”) following a review of practices regarding the marketing and sale of the TransUnion Credit Monitoring product (“TUCM Product”) and credit scores. TransUnion voluntarily entered into the Consent Order without admitting or denying any of the findings of fact or conclusions of law alleged by the CFPB.
As part of the terms of the Consent Order, TransUnion is required to pay damages to certain consumers who (1) enrolled in the TUCM Product from the time period of July 21, 2011 to January 3, 2017 (“Relevant Period”) through a “free” or “$1” introductory trial offer and (2) canceled their subscription within two billing cycles of enrollment, but after any trial period ended.
Certain Consumers have been identified as having enrolled in the TUCM Product and received a credit score from TransUnion during the Relevant Period and as having canceled their subscription within two billing cycles of enrollment, but after any trial period ended. As a result, such Consumers are being awarded damages to compensate for any harm arising from a purchase of the TUCM Product and credit scores.
